After the disciples received the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost as recorded in Acts 2, they used the Holy Spirit to witness to others about the resurrection of Jesus Christ with great power as Luke wrote in Acts 4:33:

33And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. (KJV)

The apostle Paul wrote that in the last days people would have a form of godliness while denying its power and committing all kinds of evil. His words are recorded in II Timothy 3:1-5:

1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (KJV)

We are not to use a lite form of Christianity. We are not to deny the power of the Holy Spirit. We should avoid people who commit evil and deny the power of the Holy Spirit.

God Has Given Us the Spirit of Love

The Holy Spirit is also the spirit of love. Indeed, love is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). The apostle Paul wrote that the love of God comes into our hearts through the Holy Spirit in Romans 5:1-5:

1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
