Would you suffer with Jesus? Now if we are children, then we are heirs?”heirs of God and coheirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. This comes to us from the Roman letter, chapter eight verse seventeen.
If we would share in his glory, we must share in his suffering. We must be willing to turn the other cheek, to go the second mile, to get out of our comfort level to help those who are lost to find their way.
Those who have the power to see it through the pain, suffering, and difficult obstacles, are not the ones who claim to be self-made, but those who admit that they cannot do it by themselves. They rely upon the grace of God.
Paul pleaded with God to remove his thorn in the flesh. The Lord said, ?œMy grace is sufficient for you, and my power is made perfect in weakness.??The apostle concluded, ?œTherefore I will boast about my weakness, so that Christ?™s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ?™s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong??(2 CO 12:9-10).
Like Paul, we must accept the thorns, struggle with our weaknesses, and rely on the power of God?™s grace to take us to glory.
